2024 Krampus Mariazell

Visiting snow-covered Mariazell during the Christmas markets was a truly wonderful and unforgettable experience. The whole town looked like something out of a fairy tale, with the basilica and rooftops covered in snow and the square filled with the aroma of punch and gingerbread.
Mariazell is the most famous pilgrimage site in Austria and one of the spiritual symbols of the country. It has been known since 1157, when, according to legend, the monk Magnus arrived there with a statue of the Virgin Mary.
The combination of the winter atmosphere, lights, and spiritual peace created a unique festive mood that is hard to forget.
