At Turin airport, I discovered an Italian veteran Diatto Tipo 30 from the mid-1920s (around 1925) with wire wheels and a canvas roof. Diatto is a Turin brand founded in 1835 as a manufacturer of carriages; from 1905 until the end of the 1920s, it produced sports and racing cars and also collaborated with designers such as Ettore Bugatti. Today, the brand is practically inactive – it occasionally appears in the form of concepts (e.g., Ottov? Zagato), but otherwise lives on in museums and among collectors.
