Detroit Electric 75

I found a photo on my phone that I took in Bratislava during a forest run – at the top of Kamzík near the snack bars. There was a beautiful rarity standing there:

Detroit Electric, American city electric coupe from Anderson Electric Car Co. I estimate the years of production to be 1915–1922, probably model 75/76.

A few facts about the brand: Founded: 1907, Detroit. Golden age: approximately 1909–1916 – electric cars made a lot of sense in the city: quiet, clean, and no starter crank.

Typical customers: doctors, businessmen, and upper-class ladies (including Clara Ford, Henry Ford's wife). Technology: lead-acid batteries (approx. 80 V), Edison nickel-iron batteries available at extra cost.

Production: over 13,000 units (according to various estimates), with annual maximums in the thousands. Who would have thought – electric elegance from over a hundred years ago parked on Kamzík. History can clearly make its way into our forests as well.
